My 1988 (February) VW Passat 1.8CL B2 hatchback is for sale as I am downsizing. It is too good to end up in a scrapyard and should give economical motoring for some time to come. It is taxed until January 2013 and MOT’d until 24th October 2012. It has not been crashed, everything works as it should, the body work is solid and it did not need anything doing to pass the last MOT in September 2011. The engine does not leak or burn oil and continues to pull well. Since owning the car in 1990 it has averaged 37mpg – Summer and Winter use, cruising at 70mph where permitted. The car is equipped with a Bosch car alarm which uses the door and hatch contacts. Tyre size is 185-70R 13; the front tyres are Cooper “Sportmaster GLE” and have 7mm tread left, the rears are Vredestein T-trac with 4mm tread left.
